With the talk of a Cannibal Holocaust remake, we here at the jadedviewer decided to throw a quick list together of the Top 5 Cannibal movies of all time. For the uninitiated, the cannibal genre was big sub genre of exploitation films in the 70s.White people go to the jungle to exploit the natives for their own selfish means (either dollars or fame). Cannibals run amok and start to eat the reporters.Gore, REAL animal mutitaltion, flesh eating and...

The Strangers Trailer (remake of Them?)
Posted on 3:59 PM by the jaded viewer
So I watched "The Strangers" trailer. This flick stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and is about a couple that get terrorized by 3 masked, unknown assailants in their home.It kind of reminded me of the French horror film Them (aka Ils). Them is #5 on my Top 10 Horror Movies of 2007.Is it me or is Hollywood just seems to be churning out the remakes in fuckin lighting quick speed???They seem to be different movies but the premise is the same.Check out the trailer.Tags:horror remakes, the strangers trailer , them aka ils , liv tyler,...

Trailers and clips of old school 70's style horror and cult movies
Posted on 12:31 AM by the jaded viewer
I use to have a list of horror movies that I would trade with others via the early days of the Internet. Upon looking at the list again, I can't believe I actually watched all these fucked up movies. So I figured I'd share a few with you guys. Enjoy! Patrick clip Check out this old CBS promo for Patrick as the late night movie. What more needs to be said?Patrick is a comatosed, telekinesis, pervert.Nuff said.Of course this warranted a Italian ripoff...

After Dark Horrorfest 2007: The Deaths of Ian Stone and Unearthed
Posted on 12:37 AM by the jaded viewer
Evil Adam wrote up some reviews for UGO.com for the other 4 After Dark Horrorfest movies from 2007.As I've been tortured enough by the horror-crap of this entire boxset, his reviews are outright dead on and hilariously twisted.Check out the reviews for The Deaths of Ian Stone and Unearthed below. The Deaths of Ian StoneThe Deaths of Ian Stone (2007)Directed by Dario PianaEver get to a point in your movie viewing life where you think to yourself "I've...

After Dark Horrorfest 2007: Borderland (Review)
Posted on 12:05 AM by the jaded viewer
BorderlandBorderland (2007)Directed by Zev BermanWhen the climax of your opening scene is ocular trauma, you’ve pretty much hooked me, no questions asked. And that’s how Borderland starts and continues until its chaotic, bloody end and in doing so makes it the best movie of the After Dark Horrorfest. The story is about three high school grads Ed (Jake Muxworthy) our reluctant hero, Phil (Rider Strong “Cabin Fever”) our oversexed third wheel and Henry...

After Dark Horrorfest 2007: Tooth and Nail (Review)
Posted on 12:19 AM by the jaded viewer
Tooth and NailTooth and Nail (2007)Directed by Mark Young“Laws are the only things that separate us from savagery. Because the beast is there inside all of us watching…waiting. When civilization is no longer there to protect us, when the beast is the only thing standing between us and death, we will absolutely fight tooth and nail to survive.”I love when they mention the title of the movie in narrated dialogue. Doesn’t it always justify a cool sounding...

After Dark Horrorfest 2007: Crazy Eights (Review)
Posted on 11:52 PM by the jaded viewer
Crazy EightsCrazy Eights (2006)Directed by James Koya JonesThat’s 80 minutes I’ll never get back. That would be my quote if it appeared on the DVD cover of Crazy Eights. So instead of a review that thoroughly shreds this movie, let’s go with a revised TV show theme song.Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful tripThat started at this abandoned house aboard this horror flickThe main character was a mighty professor, the priest...

After Dark Horrorfest 2007: Mulberry Street (Review)
Posted on 12:56 AM by the jaded viewer
Mulberry StreetMulberry Street (2006)Directed by Jim Mickle28 Days of the Diary of the Clover-Rats.If George A. Romero made a zombie-verse and Matt Reeves made an alien monster world, director Jim Mickle has made a rat monster utopia in Mulberry Street. It’s by far the better of the 3 movies either director made this year. With a guerilla, docu-style and the nitty gritty look of NYC’s Mulberry Street as his backdrop, Mickle takes us into an apocalyptic...

Funky Forest: The First ContactFunky Forest: The First Contact (2005)Directed by Katsuhito Ishii/Hajime Ishimine/Shunichiro MikiOn a rainy, drenched NYC day, jadedviewer.com marched to the ImaginAsian, NYC's only Asian American movie theatre. We were here to attend the city premiere of Funky Forest.I expected to see a decent showing of art house buffs, cult movie elitists and Japanese anime fans. But alas, the rain drove them away and only 5 other...

J.C.V.D (Trailer)
Posted on 12:36 AM by the jaded viewer
jadedviewer loves Van Damme. We support Van Damme 100%. We love the spinkicks, the double twin illegal fighting tournament movies. We love the cyborg, replicant cop, "black silk underwear", Rodman buddy cop movies. We love the Van Damme. We believe Hollywood needs Van Damme. But Hollywood isn't listening right now. So Jean Claude made a French movie. And we will go see it regardless if its subtitled and has no spinkicks. Because we are the true, real,...

Funky Forest: The First Contact (Trailer)

Japanese insanity has reached American shores in the form of the craziest, weirdest film people are raving about. It's Funky Forest: The First Contact.I've yet to see this but the familiars are abound. Directed by Katsuhito Ishii who directed the O-Ren Ishi anime sequence in Kill Bill Volume I and Sharkskin Man and Peach Hip Girl. It's also directed by Hajime Ishimine and Shunichiro Miki and many people say its beyond description.Well for now, watch the trailer until I can see this and post a mega-jaded revi...

Midnight Meat Train (Trailer)
Posted on 2:52 PM by the jaded viewer
Ryuhei Kitamura first burst into the horror radar scene with his ultimate zombie/yakuza movie Versus. His popularity soared with Azumi and he finally got on the Hollywood scene by directing the last Godzilla film: Gojira: Final Wars. Now, he's teamed up with Clive Barker to bring us Midnight Meat Train, a horror movie where a New York photographer hunts down a serial killer in the subways of NYC.The trailer looks like a bad J-Horror movie but if 2 people can pull off a soon to be cult favorite it's Barker and Kitamura.Check out the trailer for Midnight...

An American Crime (Trailer)
Posted on 2:41 PM by the jaded viewer
On my Top 10 Horror Movies of 2007, #4 on the list is Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door. It's a movie based on the Sylvia Liken's horrible murder in Indiana during the 1960s.There's a reason why this true crime has been made into books and film. It's so intriguing, filled with drama and horrific, unthinkable moments that it's hard to imagine it ACTUALLY happened.Well, another movie has been made on this and it stars Ellen Page as Sylvia and Catherine Keener as Gertrude.Check out the trailer for An American Cri...
